Congregational Governance Census

Unity Consulting is pleased to provide Unitarian Universalist congregations with a census of Unitarian Universalist congregations using Policy Governance®. You can download the Excel document below. 

A few notes about the census:
Because there are wide variations in the way congregations interpret Policy Governance®, we made no judgments in this census about the "right" way to do Policy Governance®. If a congregation indicated they are operating in or are in active transition to Policy Governance® or 'Carver-like' policy-based governance, we included them in the census.
We included all congregations that indicated they've at least started writing policy, even if they weren't completely satisfied with the outcome of their transition.
The data source column indicates where we got the data for the survey: 
A: Responses come from congregational responses to the 2009 congregational Policy Governance® survey.
B: Responses come from Unity Consulting's review of posts on the UUA's Policy Governance® list.
C: Responses come from information Unity Consulting gathered during the 2009 UU University Governance track.
D: Responses come from miscellaneous other sources.

We plan to update this census every year, so we'd appreciate your updates when you have them. We'll also ask for updates next March so we can get an updated census out next June.
